PARAMETERS
The loginname parameter specifies the login name of the user. This
parameter is read only. The chkflg parameter indicates which change
request is being made. See CHGFINGER, CHGPASSWD, CHGSHELL, CHGENTITY,
and CHGNEWVALUE in siad.h for more information.
DESCRIPTIONsiad_chk_user()
This routine is called by the SIA change information interfaces to
determine if a particular mechanism can change the specified users
password, finger, or shell.
RETURN VALUES
The siad_chk_user() routine returns a bitmapped value which indicate
the following status: Indicates unconditional success. All bits set to
0. Indicates conditional failure. Lowest bit set to 1. If other secu‐
rity mechanism are in place, continue. Indicates unconditional fail‐
ure. Do not continue. Second lowest bit set to 1.
ERRORS
The errno values are those returned from the dynamic loader interface,
from the (siad_*) routines, or from malloc. Possible errors include
resource constraints (no memory) and various authentication failures.
