ptime(1scl)ptime(1scl)NAMEptime - enable process micro-accounting
SYNOPSISptime command [arg ...]
DESCRIPTION
The ptime command is one of a set of proc tools provided on Solaris to
interface with /proc. The ptime utility enables micro-state accounting
for a process, which enables it to retrieve processor time statistics
with the gethrvtime(3scl) function. When the command process completes
the elapsed and accumulated CPU times are displayed to standard output.
SCL IMPLEMENTATION NOTES
The ptime binary resides in the bin directory beneath the SCL root
directory. This directory can be added to the PATH environment variable
to ensure the command is found.
Other /proc utilities are not available with this implementation of the
Solaris Compatibility Library.
EXAMPLEptime myapp 100 200
EXIT VALUES
The ptime command returns 0 if it is successful, otherwise, it returns
a non-zero value indicating the error.
