NETCPASSWD(5) BSD Programmer's Manual NETCPASSWD(5)NAMEnetcpasswd - BSD login to NetWare login mappings for IPX/SPX services
DESCRIPTION
The /etc/ipx/netcpasswd file defines the mapping from BSD users to Net-
Ware logins for the NetWare client applications on the BSD system (e.g.,
mount_netc(8), netculist(8), etc.).
If changes are made to the file, the server must be restarted by reboot-
ing the system before they will take effect.
OPTIONS
The /etc/ipx/netcpasswd file consists of series of one or more lines of
the form:
NW-srv NW-Login-name NW-passwd BSD-name type flags
The NW-srv entry specifies the remote server name. The NW-Login-name and
NW-passwd fields specify the remote login on the remote NetWare server.
The BSD-name field specifies the local user or group name for the mapping
and the flags field may contain the value `default' if this login should
be used when there is no explicit mapping for the user.
EXAMPLE
For example, the following file would configure the clients to log into
the server NETWARE1 as user USER1 unless you were logged in as BSD user
joe, in which case the NetWare user JOE would be used. For the server
NETWARE2 the NetWare login USER2 would be used.
NETWARE1 USER1 hispasswd root user default
NETWARE1 JOE jpasswd joe user
NETWARE2 USER2 mypasswd root user default
NOTE
/etc/ipx/netcpasswd is a tab delimited file. All white space must be
tabs.
